Who we are

Our registered office is 71-75 Shelton Street, Covent Garden, London, WC2H 9JQ, United Kingdom.

What data we may collect

Depending on how you use the site, we may process the following categories of data:

Category Examples
Calculator inputs Salary, bonus, hours, pension, tax-code assumptions, commuting time, commuting cost, childcare cost, student-loan selections and similar values entered into tools. In the standard calculators, these values are processed locally in your browser rather than sent to PayPrecise. If you submit the Personal Salary Report early-access form, the report inputs and estimates listed below are sent with your email address.
Technical and usage data IP address, browser type, device type, referring page, pages viewed, approximate location, timestamps and interactions with pages or tools.
Cookie and analytics data Identifiers and event data generated by analytics or similar technologies.
Contact and sign-up data Information you choose to provide when contacting us or joining an early-access list, such as your name, email address and message content. The Personal Salary Report early-access form also submits the report values shown on that page, which may include gross salary, salary band, region, age band, pension percentage, student-loan selections, housing cost, working hours, your selected goal, estimated net pay and referral source.

How calculator data is handled

Most PayPrecise calculators run in your browser. Figures such as salary, weekly hours, commuting time, pension percentage, childcare cost and student-loan type are used to generate the result shown on the page and are not normally sent to our server or used to build a personal profile.

Technical usage data may still be collected separately if you allow analytics. An important exception to local processing is the Personal Salary Report early-access form: when you submit that form, your email address and the report inputs and estimates described above are sent to Netlify Forms so we can manage the early-access list.

Please do not enter information you consider sensitive or confidential unless a feature clearly asks for it and you are comfortable providing it.

How we use personal data

We may use personal data to:

  • operate, maintain and secure the website and its calculators;
  • understand how users interact with pages and tools;
  • measure performance, improve content and improve the accuracy and usability of the site;
  • respond to emails or other enquiries;
  • manage requested early-access sign-ups and send relevant launch updates;
  • monitor errors, misuse, suspicious traffic or attacks; and
  • meet legal, regulatory or compliance obligations where applicable.

Security

We use technical and organisational measures designed to protect personal data against unauthorised access, misuse, loss, alteration or disclosure. The measures used depend on the nature of the information and the services involved, and we expect service providers processing data for us to maintain appropriate safeguards.

No website or internet transmission can be guaranteed to be completely secure, so please avoid sending information that is not needed for the feature you are using.

Lawful bases

Under UK data protection law, we rely on one or more of the following lawful bases depending on the activity involved:

Purpose Likely lawful basis
Running the site, securing it, preventing abuse and making the calculators function properly Legitimate interests
Responding to messages you send us Legitimate interests and, where relevant, taking steps at your request before entering into an arrangement
Managing an early-access list and sending the launch updates you requested Consent
Optional analytics or similar non-essential technologies Consent, where required

Cookies and analytics

We use browser storage to remember the choice you make in the cookie banner. Google Analytics is present on the site, but analytics storage is denied by default and is only enabled if you choose to allow analytics.

If you allow analytics, Google may receive information such as pages viewed, approximate location, browser and device details, and interactions with site features. You can reject analytics in the cookie banner and change or withdraw your choice at any time using the Cookie settings button shown on the site. Your choice is stored in your browser for up to 12 months.

Sharing data with service providers

We use a small number of service providers to run the site. This may include Google Analytics when you allow analytics, website hosting and security providers, email services, and Netlify Forms where a sign-up form is enabled. We do not sell personal data.

These providers receive only the information needed to supply their service and are expected to handle it with appropriate security and confidentiality protections.

International transfers

Some service providers we use may process personal data outside the UK. Where that happens, we rely on an applicable UK adequacy regulation or use recognised safeguards such as contractual transfer protections, where required. You can contact us for more information about the transfer mechanism or safeguards relevant to a particular provider.

Data retention

We keep personal data only for as long as reasonably necessary for the purposes described in this policy, including to maintain the site, answer enquiries, keep security records and comply with legal obligations.

Retention periods vary by data type. Analytics data is retained in line with the settings of the analytics service; server and security logs are kept for a limited operational period; correspondence is kept for a reasonable period after the last interaction; and early-access details are kept until the relevant launch activity is complete, the list is no longer needed, or you withdraw your consent.

When deciding how long to keep information, we consider the purpose for which it was collected, its sensitivity, security needs, applicable legal obligations and the settings available from the service provider. We delete or anonymise information when it is no longer needed.

Do you have to provide personal data?

You are not required by law or contract to provide calculator inputs, contact details or early-access information. If you do not provide an email address or the information needed for a message, we may be unable to respond or add you to the requested early-access list.

Your rights

Depending on the circumstances, you may have rights under UK data protection law, including the right to request access to personal data, rectification, erasure, restriction and, in some cases, portability. Where we rely on consent, you may withdraw that consent at any time for future processing.

Right to object: where we rely on legitimate interests, you have the right to object to that processing. We will consider your objection and stop the processing unless we have compelling legitimate grounds to continue or need it for legal claims.

You also have the right to complain to the UK Information Commissioner’s Office (ICO) if you are unhappy with how your data is handled. You can find complaint guidance at ico.org.uk. We would, however, appreciate the opportunity to address your concerns first.

Children

PayPrecise is designed for general UK salary, tax and work-cost information and is not intended specifically for children. We do not knowingly target children or intentionally collect personal data from children through the site.

Automated decision-making

The calculators on this site generate estimate outputs from the values entered, but we do not use personal data for solely automated decisions that produce legal effects or similarly significant effects about you.

Changes to this policy

We may update this privacy policy from time to time to reflect changes to the site, data practices, legal requirements or the services we use. The most current version will always be posted on this page with the latest update date shown above.

If you have any questions about this policy, contact hello@payprecision.co.uk.
